Volunteer Job Title	Race Marshal
Type of Volunteering	Helping competitors at a local/regional/national event.
Main Purpose of Volunteering	To ensure that all competitors have a safe and fun event, and to facilitate the event running smoothly.
Responsible to	Your Team Leader and/or the Race Organiser.
Competencies / Experience required	No experience necessary, just be enthusiastic and confident at giving instructions.
Commitment required	The duration of the event- this will depend on whether it is a sprint, standard, middle or long distance race.
Benefits to self	The chance to learn how an event works, observe a race and be part of a well-organised day for competitors.

Support received from:	Other race marshals, team leader, volunteer coordinator on the day and the race organiser.
